Where are we? (March 7, 2012)
I thought last week’s photo was going to prove more difficult to identify than it because of the huge amount of tree growth around the building since the original photo in 1964 was taken.
This week’s photo was undated, but like the others, I’m guessing it was taken in the 1960′s. I have a feeling I may have to give out a few hints on this one before it is correctly identified. I will give one hint now – it is not in Greater Victoria, but rather we are in an outlying Victoria community. Do you know where we are today? (click to enlarge)
History Buff correctly identified this as 2197 Otter Point Road in Sooke, the former golf course clubhouse and pro-shop building. Here is the current Google Streetview image of this building…pretty similar to today.

Ok, another hint.
This building still stands today, with almost the exact same appearance. There have been very few exterior changes to this building over the years.
Malahat? Possibly at the Victoria Fish And Game Club?
It really looks like a community Hall but for some reason it looks like a club house of some sort to me possibly a private club.
Not the fish and game club, but history buff is getting closer to what the use of the building was. But not close in terms of location.
This one is tough but I am confident I know what it is.
I know it has a clubhouse look to it. Fish and game club,legion community Hall.
Or….how about a Golf Course Club house.
I am not sure that the golf course exists any longer but my guess is that this is the Clubhouse for what used to be ……………………………………………………….

The last time I was in this building was over 10 years ago when it was a restaurant.
Your clue that it was outside or Greater Victoria Helped with this one.
I just Google Earthed it (street view) and it indeed is the place I mentioned above.
I love this game.
Once again, History Buff comes through. I think you should be banned from participating until a certain point where it’s clear that no one else is going to be able to correctly guess the locations.
