Burger King coming to Downtown Victoria

| October 26, 2011 | 0 Comments

EDIT: As of November 8, 2011, Burger King is now open for business.

The fast food landscape in downtown Victoria is changing in a big way, with the addition of Fatburger at 1209 Douglas, and Burger King just down the road at 1328 Douglas. That will bring the count to 3 for fast food joints with the existing McDonalds at 1200 Douglas Street.

Burger King will be taking over the old location of Blenz Coffee at the corner of Douglas and Johnson Streets in downtown Victoria. Renovations are almost complete, with the targeted opening date of the end of October or the beginning of November.

It has been many, many years since a Burger King was in Greater Victoria (not including Langford/Westshore). I think the last Burger King in Victoria was near the intersection of Blanshard and Bay Street (please let me know if I’m remembering incorrectly by leaving a comment).

Are you looking forward to the addition of these fast food burger joints in downtown Victoria, or do you think they should not have been allowed back in to Victoria? Sound off in the comments below!
