Greek Fest 2012 (Aug 28 – Sep 3, 2012)
This year is the 11th annual Greek Fest in Victoria! It is being held from Tuesday, August 28th through to Monday, September 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Admission has always been free and the festivities are open to the whole community at the Greek Orthodox Church and Community Centre located at 4648 Elk Lake Drive, near Saanich Commonwealth Place.
Greek Fest is a celebration of everything Greek. Learn about the history of Greece and Greeks in BC, and experience Grecian culture first hand through traditional Greek Dancing by International Dance Groups, live music from local artists, and of course… Greek food, desserts and baked goods! There will even be an authentic lamb roasting, true to Greek tradition. Food is a major focus of this event so be sure to come hungry!
This year, Community Day at Greekfest is August 30, where partial proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Tillicum Hot Lunch Program, which provides food for children in need in the Victoria Area.
Seniors, make sure you visit on August 1, and bring your appetite, because seniors will receive discounts all day! Parking is also available across the street at Commonwealth Place.
