Chinatown Night Market returns for 2012

The Chinatown Night Market, after a popular inaugural season last year, is returning to the 500 block of Fisgard this summer with 4 different night markets, each with its own unique theme.

The theme for the summer’s first night market on June 20th will celebrate the roots of the dragon boat festival and the year of the Water Dragon. There will be an artistic enactment of the folklore about the origins of dragon boating and the Chinese dragon. Featured will be local artists, dancers, musicians, actors, and local performing groups. Themes for the other nights markets include the Festival of Karaoke Stars, Festival of the Sevens, and the Autumn Moon Lantern Festival.

Along with the artistic performances will be all the street vendors selling goods and authentic Chinese cuisine. The dates for this summer’s night markets are:

• June 20, 5.00pm-9.00pm
• July 18, 5.00pm-9.00pm
• August 22, 5.00pm-9.00pm
• September 12, 5.00pm-9.00pm
