I had only heard about it and driven past before, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I thought it was going to be more of a fast food stand up type of joint, but to my surprise there were a number of tables and servers, and a sign to wait to be seated. We arrived at about 11.45am and it was already starting to fill up, but we were seated right away.
Since this was our first try at the Pink Bicycle, we both chose the signature Pink Bike Cheese Burger and fries ($12.00). The burger is made from naturally raised Hereford beef from Springford Farm seasoned to perfection and topped with smoked cheddar p, and the famous pink bike sauce. The burger was delicious and juicy, the sesame seed bun lightly toasted, and the Pink Bike sauce added just the right amount of flavour. They give you two napkins for a reason – the burgers are super juicy and saucy and you’ve gone through the first one in just a few bites. The fries we had were overcooked and hard, most likely the last of a batch that had been sitting for a while. We’d have to try again to see if that’s what they’re always like, but they were not impressive at all.
Overall we would definitely recommend The Pink Bicycle Burger Joint for a great burger. We would also recommend to arrive early if you are going for lunch on a weekday – there were people waiting for a table by the time we left. It appears it’s a popular place for the downtown office crowd for lunch.
