The Beach House Restaurant – Cordova Bay (Review)

| April 19, 2013 | 0 Comments

Having been to The Beach House in Cordova Bay before, my husband and I decided to once again indulge in one of their tasty dinners.  The cozy and modern feel, coupled with wonderful views of the ocean makes for a lovely dining experience.

Our meal started out with two appetizers. I ordered the Baked Brie which was very tasty and there was so much it could have been a main dish.

My husband ordered the Antipasto appetizer and once again it very well could have been a main dish. The selection on the plate was mixed and great for anyone who loves seafood.

My husband had a glass of the Martin’s Lane Riesling which was a great pairing with the meal he ordered. They go the extra mile to match up meals and wine selections at the restaurant. I opted for the Magic Star and Grasshopper drink. Very delicious! Kudos to the bartender that night.

Even though we were both quite full our dinner arrived in a decent amount of time. I ordered the Rack of Lamb and my husband the Elk Medallions. The Beach House did a lovely job on the presentation of the entrees, and both meals smelled so good we couldn’t wait to dig in!

I ordered the rack of lamb to be just about fully cooked, but it still came out quite rare. I enjoyed what I could eat but would next time request for it to be cooked slightly longer. This may not have been an issue for those who are accustomed to eating rare meat, but I found the pieces to be too thick and juicy.  The meal also came with mashed potatoes that were mixed with a bit of cheese as well as mixed veggies; both side dishes were tasty and complimented the rack of lamb.

My husbands meal of Elk Medallions looked great. They came with the same potatoes and veggies as my dish did. He said that for the first time eating elk that it was not too gamy and quite tasty. We were so full by the end of the night that there was no room for desert. Next time for sure!

Our server Philip was great and very attentive to all of our needs. I recommend the Beach House Restaurant for those who like a cozy, modern fancy dinner. It would be great to have a few more options on the menu for those who may want something more on the vegetarian side. The menu changes for the seasons so there is always something new on the menu. If you are in the mood for a lighter meal, the upstairs restaurant is more casual dining and has an excellent menu.
