Green Wasabi Restaurant (Review)

Meal 2Who knew that there was a Japanese Restaurant that I had yet to visit!

Green Wasabi can be found at 1692 Douglas Street (past Fisgard near City Hall.)  Does the name sound familiar?  Perhaps you visited this restaurant when it was located in Sidney.

An intriguing combination of Korean classics like Kimchi bring to life flavours that are more delicious and memorable.

Three girlfriends and I decided to try something different and we were so glad we did!  Greeted promptly and warmly by the owner who was eager to please our palates and make our dining experience memorable.  After briefly discussing any food allergies and flavour preferences, he convinced us to let him craft a personalized menu so we could sit back and relax.

meal 3The dishes he chose varied in spice, ingredient and flavour.  To begin our meal he chose an incredible salad entree with sesame dressing and tender pieces of cooked fish.  Plates with appetizers like crispy breaded chicken, seaweed with sesame, california roll, dynamite roll, spicy salmon, tuna, pork with kimchi arrived in succession.  The food was fresh, delicious and full of flavour.  Many of which I wouldn’t have thought to order.

Throwing caution to the wind and trying something new worked to our advantage this evening!  The four of us enjoyed a fulsome meal catered to our personal dietary preferences and restrictions and all for just $12.45 each (plus tip).

I call that an amazing value for dollars!  The location was quiet for a Wednesday evening, but I’m hoping that won’t last forever.  Try it out for yourself and let me know what other new and exciting dishes you discover!
