Crumsby’s Cupcake Cafe (Review)

| December 19, 2011 | 4 Comments

I was throwing together a shindig at our home to celebrate my friend’s new baby, and decided to finally use the Groupon I had purchased nearly one year ago, to Crumsby’s Cupcake Cafe.  For $7 I was able to purchase a dozen cupcakes (usually $15!). Having been to Crumsby’s before for a cup of coffee, I was looking forward to trying out their cupcakes.

This whimsical shop definitely caters to young families.  At nearly 11:00 a.m. on a Saturday, the cafe was packed with children and parents. The cafe offers child-friendly seating, bright colours, and a children’s play area.  The menu is kid friendly, offering everything from kid’s panini’s, cheese/fruit/veggie plates, and even a tea party with 2 mini cupcakes!  For the grown-ups they offer panini’s, muffins, a variety of soups and salads, and barista beverages.  And let’s not forget the great selection of freshly baked cupcakes!  They had at least 12 different types of cupcakes, including Tiramisu, Strawberry Lemonade, Coconut, Mocha, Lemon Chiffon, and of course the traditional Chocolate & Vanilla, to name a few.  We ordered a variety of cupcakes to-go and were offered a custom box that allowed each cupcake to be inserted into a cupcake-sized cut-out to ensure safe transportation.  They have thought of everything!

It is very clear why Crumsby’s is so popular: the unique vibe of the store, the friendly and helpful service, and of course the yummy-ness of their cupcakes makes kids, both big and small, want to come back for more.  We sure will be!
