Crossroads Bar & Grill (Review)

My work recently took me out to the Westshore, and for lunch I decided to try the Crossroads Bar & Grill located in the Colwood Corners complex. According to their website, they focus on fresh, local ingredients, offering a dining experience for the whole family with everything from succulent steaks to easy sharing finger foods.

I arrived after the rush of the lunch crowd at around 2.00pm, and the restaurant was empty except for one other table. I was promptly seated and served by a very friendly (and probably lonely) server. I decided to go with their signature Crossroads Burger, which is made with Okanagan smoked cheddar, bacon, their house burger sauce, served on a flame-grilled beef (and a small amount of pork – no growth hormones or animal bi-products) patty sourced from Quist Farms right here on Vancouver Island, and served with a thick-cut fries ($13.99).

If I had to rate the burger on a scale from 1-5, with 5 being the best, I would easily rate this burger a 5 – it was probably one of the tastiest burgers I have had in a long time. The kaiser bun was toasted just right, and the patty was very tasty and juicy. I’m not sure what it was, most probably their house sauce, but there was a very nice sweet touch to the overall taste of the burger. The toppings were ample, and the fries were also very good with a light crispiness on the outside, and fluffy on the inside.

I’m not sure if this lot is going to be redeveloped along with the rest of Colwood Corners into the massive Capital City Centre project, but it would be a shame to see Crossroads Bar & Grill go down along with it. If you’re out in the area, I would definitely recommend you give Crossroads Bar & Grill a try!
